The use of artificial intelligence on board.

Dear colleagues on board,

It is now common practice for us to use Google, Chat CPT and similar artificial intelligence to ask for advice when we are looking for answers.

What is now part of our everyday private lives, we could also use professionally. Why don't we ask an artificial intelligence such as Chat CPT if we need a risk assessment, a root cause analysis, corrective and preventive measures for a PSC deficiency?

In the appendix to this Fleet News issue you will find an MR 28 on 20 PSC deficiencies that was developed with the help of Chat CPT. As you can see in this MR 28, artificial intelligence is not stupid and can makes many things easier.

Everyone of you now uses a smartphone, a tablet or a private laptop on board. Install (if you haven't already) the free version of Chat CPT (you can find it on the Internet via Google) on your computer or the ship's computer and try out whether this artificial intelligence can make your job on board easier.

The use of artificial intelligence on board is of course only to be used as an aid (like a navigation system in a car) and is not part of our ship management system.

If you already have experience with the use of artificial intelligence, please share your experience with us.
