Electrical Relay Maintenance

I would like to ask you to look at the following maintenance guide and implement it on board your ships as far as possible:

1. Safety Precautions

Always de-energize the circuit before performing any maintenance.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure the system is safely isolated.


2. Visual Inspection

Exterior Condition:

Check the relay housing for any signs of physical damage, corrosion, or wear.

Connections:

Ensure all electrical connections are tight and free from corrosion. Look for any loose wires or connectors.

Mounting:

Verify that the relay is securely mounted and not loose or vibrating.


3. Cleaning
