No Room for Racism on board!

Dear colleagues on board,

during one of my recent ship visits, I was saddened to learn that there is currently a case of racism—along with various other hostilities—occurring within the crew on one of our vessels.

This makes me not only sad but also very angry. Not merely because I personally detest every form of racism—no, that is not the only reason. Rather, it is because, for over 25 years, the Lohmann family has consistently strived to treat every colleague on board with respect and esteem—regardless of their skin color or gender. For the Lohmann family—and, of course, for every employee here in the office—teamwork, honesty, and loyalty to every colleague (both on board and in the office) always come first. And within this large team, racism definitely has no place whatsoever.

And quite honestly: even though instances of racism unfortunately still occur all too often in this beautiful, vast world of ours—whether driven by political or religious motives—shouldn't we, all the more, lead by example and show everyone that respectful coexistence is the better path?

I would like to ask each and every one of you to always treat all your colleagues—both male and female—with the utmost respect and fairness.
